Elmore Leonard on Writing
Просмотров 119 тыс.14 лет назад
'Mr Majestyk', 'Stick', 'Cat Chaser', '52 Pick up' - just some of the colourful, clever and very exciting thrillers penned by Mr Elmore Leonard. Here he talks about his career to date, and gives us a lil insight into his writing methods. This is a 2006 interview repeated recently which I managed to grab off the iplayer.
Kermode/Woodward - Whicker Man Set Visit

Something I recorded off an arts programme back in 2007. Just think of it as a lil tribute to Edward Woodward.
On Dangerous Ground - Scoring Outtakes

Bernard Herrmann may have been among the greatest of all film composers, but like all gifted creators, his personality was a lil on the irrascible side, as this extract from an original studio recording illustrates.
Martin Galway - Green Beret (C64) [Loading Theme]
Просмотров 24 тыс.15 лет назад
I think somebody may have uploaded this already, or perhaps the main title screen music? Not that I give a shit, as both pieces are fandabbydozy, but I have to say that this loading music is the most aesthetically pleasing of the two.
OFP (SLX 2.5) - Sniper Team (gameplay)
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.15 лет назад
Not a walkthrough, just a lil gameplay test of a standard Operation Flashpoint mission running with the SLX 2.5 mod. There was a serious flaw in OFP - unreasonable AI, making it almost unplayable during fire fights, where EVERY AI soldier was an expert marksman it seemed. SLX, apart from adding new FX, vehicles, and units corrects this defect. Most enemy bullets will miss from a distance, and i...
Simulated Asteroid Strike

What happens when a small metallic ball bearing is fired onto a surface - at 3 miles per second. Cool slow-mo footage.
Moroder/Galway - The Neverending Story [c64] (Title Music)
Просмотров 36 тыс.15 лет назад
I never played this C64 game, but I gather it was some sort of text based adventure game. Anyhow, Martin Galway's title screen music is a rendition of the cheesy pop song Giorgio Moroder wrote for the film. Nice melodic tune, perfect for the SID chip, I think.
OFP - KA-50 Hokum

Inspired by that infamous night vision footage that came out of Iraq a few years ago, using classic military simulator 'Operation Flashpoint'.
Chapman Bros. Horror Exhibition Liverpool 2007
Просмотров 6 тыс.16 лет назад
Mark Kermode, film critic and horror enthusiast, takes a lil trip up to the Tate gallery in Liverpool to interview the Chapman Brothers, artists who specialise in all that is macabre and grotesque. They were hosted here late 2006/early 2007. More on the exhibition here: www.tate.org.uk/liverpool/exhibitions/jakeanddinoschapman/
OFP - Curse of the Zombies
Просмотров 6 тыс.16 лет назад
New zombie movie, once again made in 'Operation Flashpoint' with the Farmland Zombie mod. This is a lil homage to 80s Italian horror video trash; a fake trailer in the style of that era. Music - Goblin - from the soundtrack to 'Contamination'.
CCTV - Scaghead Attacks Off-Licence

Don't ask. Footage captured around April 2005.
Jarre/Galway - Yie Ar Kung-Fu (C64) [Title Music]
Просмотров 48 тыс.16 лет назад
Martin Galway's title music to 'Yie Ar Kung-Fu' on the Commodore 64 which is of course an arrangement of Jarre's 'Magnetic Fields'; and a pretty marvellous one at that, if a lil on the long side.
OFP (FFUR SLX 2.5) - Shadow Killer

A walkthrough of the classic Operation Flashpoint mission 'Shadow Killer', played using the FFUR SLX 2.5 mod.

Platypus game
I so love this soundtrack. I grew up playing this game. Was so awesome! Thanks for sharing. Hello friends. Jesus is coming! Get saved today! Read John: 3:15-17, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10 :9-10, Romans 3:22-28, Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-9, Ephesians 1:13-14. Rapture any day now! Amen!!!
The best minute of music ever !
Ohh Himmel, habe gerade Hühnerhaut, Gott habe ich das Lied damals geliebt, für die einen nur Rauschgenerator, für die anderen ist es ein besonderer Moment. Danke für das tolle Gefühl👍🏼
He was great in both The Wicker Man and The Whicker Man.
I think if Jarre heard this he'd be honoured and like it a lot. Excellent version :)
There is only one thing about "The Whicker Man", that we do not feel comfortable about. We sincerly hope THAT NO ANIMALS WERE BURNED ALIVE IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM! Should we find otherwise, IT WILL BE REPORTED TO THE RSPCA. RIGHTLY, JIMMY SAVILLE, PLUS OTHERS, WERE CONVICTED OF PAST CRIME. LET'S NAIL SOME OF THESE ASSHOLES WHILE THEIR STILL ALIVE.
Great slow build up.....
Here is the stereo version of this number one C64 Tune all times : ruclips.net/video/Br7wz1TlHSc/видео.htmlsi=we9aHXz5mQasLxBJ
0:20, 0:36, 2:04😮😊
Every May day I keep my appointment with the Wicker Man. I could easily watch it every week but I restrict myself to once a year to keep it special. Hail the Queen of the May.
Waiting for @CharlesCornellStudios to find this...
They had Rush 'n' Attack on the C64?
I do swear, on my original c64, fird sid series, this sounds somehow even better - more detailish, somehow rougher and using kind of short echoes - and the baslines seem to have a more seperated sounding line of overtones. And call me creepy, I also thing all those digisounds on the fird sid sound louder, but also even rougher and slighliy brutal, compared with the c64-II/C/Aldi Sids. I do have the sid directly from connected without any plugs with massive shieldet silver cable to a denon pma500 amp, leading to a infinity cappa 9.2 nearest by - and you should hear maniacs aof sound titles running on this system. No matter what you do, none of my sythies, even the roland ones, do sound that brutal and that honest. A drug of sound, listening to martin galway, chris hülsbeck, rob hobbard, david whittaker and those Ive forgotten... That sid chip lifted the c64 to some people farb beyond to be a gameing console, I think... Thank you for sharing this tune!
Lots of C64 tunes are recorded from a sid emulator, as this one, so there are still some imperfections, i.e on modeling filter. This tune sounded way better on my original C64.
Back in the 80s and 90s Ive had some shops in westphalia. And in every one of them there has been a playlist to run, including this tune and yie ar kung fu one, also the green beret main title. And you wont believe who respondet to this - only possible with the unique sid chip and a genius like martin galway! Beeing on hollidays in elsasse/france, taking a long walk in the deep forests, I heard a guy whistling this theme complexly as possible - now Im married with him for 30+ years... THX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My all-time favorite author. Master of dialogue. Master of his craft. He can convey so much in a few words.
So many amazing performances in the great classic movie and by Edward Woodward and others this is amazing
The first minute 25 seconds of this is musical perfection, but it drifts off into something rather less interesting after that. Mr Galway knew he couldn't better the beginning, so he left it at that.
96% and no gold medal. Mental.
Ben Daglish made this immortal. Alas, he was not .-(
W I C K E R
It's just mind-boggling how good this song is.
Galway takes Jarres tune and koncks it up 15 notches and beyond.
Agree
the revererd jrg story WTF!!!
Nothing less than absolute genius.
I miss you truly Edward Woodward what a gift to the world you were you are very lucky family my husband and I we followed your career first time we saw you was on The Equalizer thank God we taped all of them Senate went into getting the film for Breaker Morant Glenwood such happiness I rented the film wicker man we missed you everyday that you left us I'm sure we wanted to shock send my husband died in front of me the great gifts that we leave behind thank you for yours my dear sir Edward Woodward
I see a laser being shot, lol.
Great game. Jean Michel Jarre Magnetic Fields 4 music 👍
You can hear this song in an endless loop and it never gets boring!
this game and music is the reason why I later studied computer sience and why I still go to raves :D
Speelde deze over en weer, die met die polsstok was lastig en die vrouw die met die hartjes gooide, weet d'r naam niet meer, was erg lastig te verslaan, blijft een van m'n meest favorieten spellen op de c64, herinneringen vloeien weer terug
3:33 If I was Kermode, I would have waited until Woodward was prepared to move on. He hadn't been back there for over 30 years so it must be quite a lot to take in.
Galway is God.
When someone is blessed and makes his best is god so he is god
Oh wow... This is beautiful soundtrack, I love to similar platypus!
Man, it's so clean. It's always been beautiful. I never did play the game but I have been using my C64 since 1988. Probably got introduced to the computer and it's sound in 1985. But I do love this track. Both original and the Back in Time track on the very first cd. It's funny how different C64 composers have their own style. Ben Daglish, Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Jeroen Tel, Reyn Ouwehand. Oh, Jonathan Dunn did the brilliant Ocean loader tune. No chance I could name all the SID composers. You know what? Tons of tunes goes well with urbs and alcohol. Don't tell me the 'S' in SID doesn't stand for Shrooms.
Love it,but Is it a horror film though?
A musical, mystery, folk horror.
Der Sound ist genauso geil wie das Spiel selbst! Wizball C64 ist einfach Zauberhaft !!!
This tune is the ultimate saw and square wave heaven !
There is still magic in this world...
I remember playing this on the C64, and it crashed while loading, but the music still played...did not mind reloading it again after listening to if for a bit 😁
I don't quite get the enthusiasm in the comments. This song is great for a very short period of time of about 1:30 minutes. Then it becomes rather boring. Whoever thinks this is great should rather listen to Martin Galway's "Parallax" or "Game over".
You forgot Daley Thompsons Decathlon. My first game with a loading tune - and it was a YMO cover! The great and wonderful Rydeen
Played throught it on christmas 88 together with a friend. The friend is long gone, but this music still stands out!
Amazing soundtrack for an amazing movie !! 👏🏻😎🤘🏻
Martin Galway, Robb hubbard.
This is a stunning song. Probably my favourite C64 game. I completed it, kind of. It started again once I'd finished! 😅
Edward Woodward. What an absolute gentleman he really was. We miss you.
Truly remarkable.
Never understood the game but loved the soundtrack
I owned Wizball (on tape) back in '87. The game would definately be in my Top 10 greatest C64 games of all time and the music likewise.
